can I ask?
what's the point of wedgits if you have a conventional detent? I thought that was sorta the point? I was curious about this on the blazers too...
if it's closed bolt does this stop a ball rolling forward after the bolt has pushed it past the detend?
anyway, that looks pretty cool - congrats I know you kept talking about this thing, I had no idea what to expect... cool!

Ah... "detents" on a closed bolt? Good question for those not as familiar with closed bolt operation vs. open bolt markers (like your average mag, Spyder, Tippmann, electro, etc.)
You'll notice all cockers (and other closed bolts) have detents too. It doesn't have to do with "roll outs."
They prevent "double feeding" of a ball and the resulting "chop" rather than "roll forward" on an open bolt marker without detents. If a ball drops and rolls forward then another ball may start to drop. That can cause chops in a closed bolt. The detent holds that ball in place until the BOLT pushes it into the barrel to sit and wait for the only shot of air to launch it.
Wedgits prevent paint from rolling out the barrel as the ball is already deposited INTO the barrel to sit and wait for the next shot on a closed bolt marker. When the trigger is pulled only the air hits the the ball. On a cocker (and other closed bolt guns) most people use barrel kits and size their paint to the barrel exactly to prevent roll outs. Wedgits work best for fixed barrel guns to contend with varying paint sizes.
Of course on an open bolt marker the ball is held OUTSIDE the barrel by the "detent" and slammed into the barrel by the bolt when the trigger is pulled. THEN the air hits it and propels it out of the barrel.
It's really the same operation in a closed bolt vs. open bolt gun... just TIMED differently. That's why at high rates of fire there is really no difference between the two operations. But at low ROF and one shots... only air hits the ball on the closed bolt marker as it sits IN the barrel.

OK i figured that's what it was.... I know on cockers the purpose of detents is to keep a second ball from feeding while the bolt is open

Exactly... I should have just said what you just said instead of typing out a novel.

eh, novels are cool sometimes
you should right tech articles...
yay
hehe I like how you say "slammed into the barrel" when on spool, poppet and the lX mags the ball is pushed forwards with less force than it takes to tear a piece of paper ;)

The vertical brass thing is the "three-way" switch. (Like the three or four-way valve on a cocker.)
The LPR (low pressure reg) is inside the front tube (in the fore-grip).
The main female Stabilizer is the main regulator.
Savage... I WILL use this gun. ;)

do you plan on using a remote setup with it? looks like it was designed with that in mind

Either a remote or 4 oz CO2 tanks. :)
