Yes. Fatal sundays kick ass. I went up to old aubrn road on saturday... all i can say is it sucked. Nobody was agressive, there werent any chronographs and old aubrn road just plain sucks in my opinion.
Fatal sundays are the way to go for local paintball. A common thought that all noobies have is "im going to play with all my friends that are just as inexperienced as i am so i can get good!"
Bad call. Dont be frightened people. you wont get any better if you dont challenge yourself.
Long story short, dont be a poonaner and sit in your room fondeling your gear waiting for your friend to organize a game at his house. Screw them and go to the airport.
Rob-o out.

lol nice :D
That's right, play paintball, as often as you can - Get out to the old Nevada City Airport and play some ball with some really good people every Sunday - kids, young and old, doesn't matter how you play, pump, electros, everything is welcome. We have Chronos, we have rules, everything is set up for a safe fun time :D

it was that bad. some of them have things that they do on sundays... i think one of them actually. lol. like i said before, its cause they "want to get good" before they play with other people.

Get a gog shot on me and I try to return the favor by the end of the day. :D
If those guys you played with had a good time after all was said and done, then that increases the chance they may come play with you guys before too long. I am a believer in jumping in to the fire as well but different people have different approaches to the game. I know the first time I made it to SC village it was quite the eye opening experience and really got me hooked on the game. That was nearly 20 years ago... I will say that me and the two buddies I played with at that time did benefit from playing together beforehand but we were aggressive players from day 1.
Sitting behind some baracade for an entire game and exchanging pot shots with someone doing the same gets boring fast and soon everyone realizes it accomplishes nothing. Hopefully that day boosted their confidence enough to get them out on your field sooner rather than later. A target rich environment is always a good thing.

I agree to a point - I know my first introduction to the sport in 1991 was with a small group just like a lot of kids today - I was instantly hooked and saved for weeks to be able to purchase my first marker, a Tippmann SL68-II. We played game after game, every other week. We had no opportunities to play with others, simply the internet wasn't what it is today, and we just didn't know a lot of people - until we stopped into the local store (still there!) and jumped at the chance to play with a group that met every Saturday. Soon, my friends and I put together our first team (The Tigercats) and playing as a group really did gear us up for the bigger games. Going up against top ranked teams Ironmen and Madd Doggs was a huge experience, My best friend Josh and I were instantly hooked on Tournament paintball - in 1999 we formed Team Core, practiced relentlessly (mosty just drills, hardly any real paintball) entered in the Sierra Superball Series Ameture bracket (a mistake, we should have been one bracket lower) in 2001 and took 3rd 2nd and 3rd in our first three events. We ended with a 4th overall place our first year, and 3rd the next. It was in 2003 that I joined up with Twisted Paintball, an already established team winning tournaments in Ameture NPPL events. We went Division 2 the next year, and stayed in the top 10 for the entire season. I stayed on the team for 2 years before leaving the Tournament scene for good. I was just too sick of the hockey player on coke attitudes that many players had,the cheating and the controversy.
Now, finally in 2006 I Joined up with Ajnin and Cowboy to form Fatal Paint... in my opinion one of the best scenario based teams out there in terms of skill and drive. The rules have changed, the markers have changed... the game hasn't - it's still the same sport I played with my friends in a backyard hiding behind a couple of old washing machines for bunkers... I wouldn't be the player I am without that first experience.
I know, long winded story.... sorry got carried away - BUT
moral of the story... I hope these kids are hooked on the sport, and can make it out on Sundays to kick it with us and shoot some funny balls of paint around!
