hey i got a used gas powered rc car that has ben sitting for 2 years. but there is a problem. The servos on it are going hay wire. its acting like its getting mixed controles. i say that because the servos won't stop moving. what can i do? i think it might be the controller, because when i was messing around with the servos control box. so i think that might be it!
if you can give me any input it will help

usually when a servos are on the fritz it has to do with the radio receiver - are your survos the type that get all their power through the RX (reciever) or do they have a seperate power source - i'm guessing since it's old and used - they plug right into the RX - luckily those are rather cheep (around 75$ for a decent one)
anyway... a .15? sheesh - I had that in my NTC3 - those things usually have .21 cc motors in them! first order of business... get a .21 with a 2 speed tranny and make that thing move! :)

Check to see if any of the linkages are rubbing against each other. That can cause interference which makes the servos twitch, or could be rf interference from some other source near by.
BTW I've got a BNIB Siro engine made for the T Maxx if your interested. Comes with all the parts to drop in to that truck.

i figured it out the trigger on the gun is f---ed so i got to buy a new one.
i just spent 150 just replaceing out of date parts, and here i thought it has only been siting for 2 years and it has benn sitting for over 6  f--k thats out of date

as for extra parts - the only things I have around anymore are parts for a MicroRS4 and a few suspension parts from my TC3 - none will work for your 'maxx
you can find lots of bits on eBay - that's where I got the majority of the parts on the Nitro - including the RD Logics .15 turbo. got the piston, head, rod, and many other bits for the rebuild when it blew up the first time as well - before I sent it in to get racked up (can we say 50,000 RPM from a gas motor?)

Are you running the stock TX/RX? I've got my old one if your in need. Also all the old stock suspension parts, arms, shocks towers, drive lines, turnbuckles, I know theres a rear exhaust in the pile too, as well other stuff.
If I remember right the .15 was the 1st maxx then the .18 which is what I have parts for. I think these parts would drop on and give you a wider stance.
Anyway your welcome to them, pay the shipping and they're yours. If you've got a E Blade eye you could send my way that would be cool too. Maybe we could get a RC/PB Pay It Forward going here.
I may head up your way for some PB Sunday, if so I'll bring 'em. Let me know. Later........

HAHAHA A 1000 PMI's? Ok I'll dig it out and dust it off. We're gonna head up there.
I know what you mean about the not running. I started R/C cold turkey with a T Maxx. It's a pretty steep learning curve tuning gas cars. I ended up with 4 trucks and a buggy. I ran them pretty hard, built a track in the back of my property.
Couldn't get my son in to it, so I kind of lost interest.
Haven't run any of them for a couple years, in fact the last one I bought was one of the new back then CEN trucks (it's huge next to the T Maxx) I never even finished breaking in the motor on it. Never got it dirty. I keep saying that I'm going to E bay all that stuff but never get around to it. Problem is like PB I've got thousands invested but it's only worth a few hundred.
Now after reading this thread I'm thinking, damn I'm gonna go get 'em going again.

I've got the stock TX And RX. And all the stock suspension stuff. There's not much in the way of stock parts on my truck. Really just the motor and trans. I cooked the stock motor. It starts and runs but craps out once it warms up. Learned the hard way that it's better to run a little rich and sluggish than lean and screamin'.
I'll donate it all to you. It ain't pretty but it's good to have some spares. Those things can take a beating, but catch a front wheel on a tree or a fence post at 30 mph ............
