Uses the most widely used goggle and lens combination in the industry (260 degree Spectra 2)
Revolutionary exoskeleton frame is created using JT's exclusive state of the art "Dual Fusion" technology, which allows the system to be structurally efficient while maintaining the softness, flexibility, and ventilation winning players demand.

Initial Review:
Whatever "dual fusion" means. The flex8 is actually harder than any other flex system. The vents are great - in fact - the placement and opientation are perfect for paintball. It's low profile and good looking. Plus, it uses the Spectra lense system. Meaning a wide variety of lenses to choose from, as well as straps. It's not as customizable as other JT Flex masks, but that can be easily remidied with simple modifications (pbnation guys)

Testing:
Comes in both headshield model and without. I have used both - The headshield is great for protecting your dome from those painful ringers, and looks pretty cool too. Although you get pretty hot in there on a warm day, you'll be done by mid day if you're not careful. The thermal lense never fogged up on me, not even in rain and foggy weather, not even in super hot weather either. The visor offers good protection from sunlight, I still recomend a tinted or mirrored lense however. I have received bounces off the visor, which is nice.

Further Testing:
The venting is adequate, your voice is not muffled when trying to comminucate with team members, hearing isn't reduced much either. Yet, there is still signifcant protection. I've never had paintshell come through the mask to cut up my pretty face (although a direct shot in the front of the mask will get you a mouthful of the tasty stuff). The new frames are softer, meaning lens replacement is easier - although newcomers may still have difficulty, it becomes easier with practice to remove, clean and replace the lense. Cleaning is easy, just wash in warm water , paint slips right off, with no staining.

Rating:
9

You can't get a better mask for comfort, and great looks than the JT Flex 8

Another opinion of the headshield:

At first when I purchased this mask along with Kitty I had my reservations about the headsheild. I love it now, but I have always enjoyed running with something on my head, be it material or helmet like. I enjoy the freedom of movement it provides me as well hiding the lines of my head and covering a bit more flesh. Of course its nice to be able to take a hit in teh back of the head and not feel it. My hearing doesnt seem to be effected, but I am sure it is, even if it is only minor. I havent become too over heated because of the head sheild as Kitty has, but I was wearing a ARMY woodland camo helmet cover before, it was much hotter.

The only gripe I have is that JT decided not to include snaps or buttons or some way of removing the headsheild. The masks are the same between the ones without the headsheidl and those with. Even the ones without have the holes pre-molded. Easy enough fix though, drill the crappy plastic rivets out and insert your own snapping system.
